Vampiric Patron
Warlock Patron: Drain Blood and Become One with the Night
Level 3: Vampiric Spells
The magic of your patron ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Warlock level specified in the Vampiric Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
Vampiric Spells
Warlock Level | Spells |
3 | Chill Touch, Command, Darkness, Inflict Wounds, Spider Climb |
5 | Gaseous Form, Vampiric Touch |
7 | Death Ward, Dominate Beast |
9 | Contagion, Dominate Person |
Level 3: Vampire Bite
Your patron has granted you a pair of sharp fangs, which you can use to drain blood. As a Bonus Action, you use the fangs to make an Unarmed Strike. You can use your Charisma modifier for the Attack and damage rolls of this Unarmed Strike. You can only use the Damage option of an Unarmed Strike using the fangs. On a hit, you deal Necrotic damage equal to 2d4 plus your Charisma modifier instead of the normal damage of an Unarmed Strike, and you regain Hit Points equal to the amount of Necrotic damage dealt.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest. If the Unarmed Strike misses, this use of the feature isn’t expended.
Level 6: Nosferatu’s Trance
When you hit a creature with your Vampire Bite and deal damage, the target has Disadvantage on attack rolls it makes against you before the start of your next turn.
Level 10: Transformation of the Night
As a Bonus Action, you can shape-shift, along with everything you are wearing or carrying, into a monstrous bat hybrid. This transformation lasts for 10 minutes. It ends early if you dismiss it (no action required), have the Incapacitated condition, or use this feature again. Once you use this feature to shape-shift, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest unless you expend a Pact Magic spell slot (no action required) to restore your use of it.
While shape-shifted, you retain your personality, memories, and ability to speak, and the following rules apply:
Temporary Hit Points. You gain Temporary Hit Points equal to your Warlock level plus your Charisma modifier.
Large Size. If you are Medium or smaller, you become Large.
Flight. You have a Fly Speed equal to your Speed.
Charismatic Might. Whenever you make a D20 Test that uses Strength, you can use Charisma for it instead.
Free Bite. Using your Vampire Bite while shapeshifted doesn’t expend uses of that feature.
Level 14: Vampiric Thralls
When you reduce a Humanoid to 0 Hit Points using a Warlock spell or Warlock feature that deals Necrotic damage, you can raise that Humanoid as a Ghoul under your control, as per the Create Undead spell. An Undead created using this feature crumbles into dust after 24 hours. You can control a maximum number of Ghouls equal to your Charisma modifier. If you already control the maximum number of Ghouls animate a new Ghoul, choose one of the old Ghouls to crumble into dust.
Undead you create using this feature have the following benefits.
Hit Points. The Undead’s adds twice your Warlock level to its Hit Point maximum.
Attack Bonus. The Undead uses your spell attack modifier for its attack rolls.
Damage. The Undead adds your Charisma modifier to its damage rolls.
