7 Magic Garments

Following on from the clothing-related variant rules I posted last week, here are some magical outfits for those characters who can’t or don’t want to benefit from magical armour. While it’s not standard practice to give wondrous items subcategories, I have put notes against each of these to indicate what type of outfit it is based on.

Ballgown of Effortless Movement
Wondrous item (fine clothes), rare (requires attunement)
This attractive ensemble contains an enchantment that enables you to dance away from your enemies. While attuned to these clothes, you do not trigger opportunity attacks when you move out of a creature’s reach.

Goku Uniform, 1-, 2- or 3-Star
Wondrous item (soldier’s uniform), rare (1-star), very rare (2-star) or legendary (3-star) (requires attunement)
This expertly-tailored uniform grants you an AC of 14 + your Dexterity modifier (to a maximum of 2) + a magical bonus equal to its number of stars, and it can be donned or doffed as an action. Furthermore, you can add the bonus to any Athletics checks you make while wearing the uniform.

Gown of Lushness
Wondrous item (sumptuous regalia), common (requires attunement)
This long gown is made of impossibly fine silk and lace. Wherever its train sweeps across the ground, beautiful flowers spring up. The flowers bloom continuously and will never die as long as you remain attuned to the gown.

Knave’s Robe
Wondrous item (robes), uncommon
This robe is designed to protect wizards who find themselves forced to venture into shady taverns and narrow alleyways late at night. You gain a +1 bonus to your AC against attacks that would deal piercing damage and have advantage on saving throws against poison.

Loincloth of Oni Magic
Wondrous item (common clothes), very rare (requires attunement by a barbarian)
While attuned to this blood-red loincloth, you can cast and concentrate on any spells you know, even while you are raging.
     Furthermore, the loincloth has 6 charges. While attuned to it, you can use an action and expend 1 or more charges to cast one of the following spells (spell save DC 17): charm person (1 charge), sleep (1 charge), darkness (2 charges), invisibility (2 charges), gaseous form (3 charges) or cone of cold (4 charges). The loincloth regains 1d6 expended charges daily at sunset.

Raiment of Glam
Wondrous item (costume), rare (requires attunement)
This sequin-encrusted outfit is made for stage performers. It sheds bright light in a 10-foot radius, and dim light for a further 10 feet beyond that. While attuned to this outfit, you can use a reaction when you are hit by an attack to force the attacker to make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be blinded until the end of its next turn.

Vest of the Jungle
Wondrous item (lightweight clothes), uncommon (requires attunement)
Thanks to a number of clever enchantments, this vest provides exceptional functionality in tropical environments. While attuned to this item, you have advantage on saving throws against disease, only have to drink half as much water as normal to avoid dehydration, and if a swarm of beasts attempts to attack you, it must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or become stunned until the end of the turn.
